How Will I Know the Specific Areas I Need to Work On? How Do I Ensure I Am Not Revising What I Know Already?
Use your assessments from class to check your knowledge, we will also use RAG sheet to show you where you need to focus on. You will also be given specific feedback in lesson and after mocks and assessments. Use this to improve on your areas of development.
If you are still struggling, then you must come and get additional help from your teacher, and make use of the bank of revision resources we have available to you!
Best Method of Revision?
Specification, Knowledge organisers, Revision Guides:
Use the resources to make revision notes, mind maps or flashcards. Flashcards are key in helping you to remember key facts.
Past paper questions:
Complete lots of past paper questions. Then mark them using the mark scheme. You will learn subject knowledge as well as how the examiners want you to respond.
Use model answers to help you construct your answers! A lot of the questions rely on you to answer the question in a certain way.
I think the best way to revise is through mind maps and flashcards! Once you have a good understanding of this then move on to… Perfecting how you answer the questions and its layout. In class, we will go through model answers to help you construct your own perfect answer.
How Can Parents Help?
Help them with their revision task homework by testing them. Test them frequently as once the homework is checked it should be with them at home as a source of revision.
Go through the flashcards with them at home in the evening.
And finally, lots of encouragement!
