How Will I Know the Specific Areas I Need to Work On? How Do I Ensure I Am Not Revising What I Know Already?

Use the specification that you have been given or that you have access to. This highlights all the topics you need to know for your qualification and exam. You can also check over your previous assessment tasks for specific feedback.

Let your teacher or any of the PE department know if you need help or if you need to be shown where certain information is.

Best Method of Revision?

  1. Past Papers: Have a go at the numerous past papers available. Importantly, mark yourself and study the mark scheme. Ensure you follow up on questions you struggled on.

  2. Cue Cards: Make yourself some revision cards. On one card you can have the word, e.g. provision, and then on another you could have the definition e.g. what sports facilities and opportunities are available. Have a go at pairing them all up.

  3. Online quizzes – Kahoot: Log on to Kahoot and type in a specific topic, e.g. Barriers to exercise. Have a go at the online quizzes.

  4. Practical Revision: Physically have a go at the many topic areas that require physical exercise, e.g. read about and try all the fitness tests, training methods etc…

+ Option One

Questions and quizzes, use past papers and mark yourself using the mark schemes or get on to Kahoot!

+ Option Two

Get physically active by reading over and then completing the practical sessions, e.g. sprint up the stairs and record your heart rate.

How Can Parents Help?

  • Quiz your child as much as possible, ask them quick fire questions and at times ask them to expand on their answers. Compete against them in Kahoot quizzes.

  • Get involved in physical challenges and games with them yourself.

  • Become the student and let you child teach you about a topic within the curriculum.
