Best Method of Revision?

1. Knowledge organisers and Revision Guides: Use the below resources to make revision notes, mind maps or flashcards. This should take up no more than 15-20 minutes of each session.

2. Retrieval Practice and Low Stakes Quizzes: Create a bank of short, knowledge questions based on processes, case studies, true/false facts, multiple choice features. Use your advent calendar to get you going!

3. Past paper questions: Complete lots of past paper questions. Then mark them using the mark scheme. You will learn subject knowledge as well as how the examiners want you to respond.

4. Visual Note Taking: Use dual coding, the big picture or the transform it methods to help you make links between different topics, case studies, processes and examples.

How Can Parents Help?

• Ask your child if they know their SENECA account login, and view how long they have spent online, the number of tasks they’ve completed and if there are any outstanding assignments.

• Each week, ask your child to show you completed revision activities. This could include their December advent calendar, skills booklet, exam practice questions or revision clocks.

• Email your child’s Geography teacher with any specific questions or queries!
