How Will I Know the Specific Areas I Need to Work On? How Do I Ensure I Am Not Revising What I Know Already?

Look at your test feedback sheets from lessons to identify areas you need to work on. Then use resources such as your revision guide to support you in filling these gaps in knowledge. You can also attend Lesson 6 on a Tuesday to get further support.

Best Method of Revision?

  1. Look at the AQA Specification, Revision Guide, Exercise books
Use the above resources to make revision notes, mind maps or flashcards. This should take up no more than 15-20 minutes of each session.

  2. Resources
Use Seneca and your notes to quiz yourself.

  3. Past paper questions
Complete lots of past paper questions. Then mark them using the mark scheme. You will learn subject knowledge as well as how the examiners want you to respond.

  4. Required Practicals
Learn the required practical's thoroughly. They will be on the exam. These are in the revision guide.

How Can Parents Help?

  1. Check that students are completing homework and testing themselves regularly.

  2. Each week, ask your child to show you the past paper questions that they have completed and marked.

  3. Ask your child to give you any required practical sheets they have completed. Then test them on contents. For example, ask them to verbally describe how a particular experiment is carried out
